Is Pet Insurance Right for You?

Pet insurance is a great way to plan ahead for your pet’s medical care and help offset unexpected veterinary expenses. Most pet insurance plans reimburse you for a percentage of the cost after your pet has received treatment, giving you the freedom to make decisions based on your pet’s needs—not your budget.

Unlike human insurance, you typically pay your veterinarian upfront and then submit a claim to your pet insurance provider. Coverage varies depending on the company and plan, but many policies cover accidents, illnesses, medications, diagnostic testing, and even wellness care.

To find the best plan for your pet and compare providers side by side, we recommend visiting Pet Insurance Review.  Although it is never too late to sign up, the best time to enroll is when your pet is young and healthy—pre-existing conditions typically aren’t covered.
